If you are like me and have a bad habit of being a “reuser” then you should plan on going to the Reuse It Renton! Stop and Swap event this Saturday, June 6th from 10a.m-2p.m at the Renton Memorial Stadium. Whoa, that was a long sentence.
Anyways, possibilities abound at this event, the chances of finding a new treasure for yourself seem pretty good. I know Sammy and I will be hitting up this event in the hopes of finding a table and some chairs for outside or something great that we can add to our garden like an old toilet, for decoration of course.
If you plan on participating in the “swapping” part please be advised that there are a few items that are not accepted at the Stop and Swap such as: refrigerators, mattresses, box springs, computers & monitors, broken items, textiles, satellite dishes and tires are just a few. Some of the items that are accepted are barbeques, building materials (that are in good shape), exercise equipment, toys, books, games and furniture. The Stop and Swap is such a great way to reduce the amount of waste that goes into our landfills and since reducing waste and “going green” is all the rage now days I expect to see everyone out tomorrow morning.
Renton Memorial Stadium is located at 405 Logan Ave North and the event takes place in the south parking lot.
