We Finally Did It

It would not be an exaggeration if I told you that every time we pass the Henry Moses Aquatic Center, Sammy says “I want to go there someday”. Whether it be the dead of winter or the middle of night, if we pass by the waterpark he notices it.  Being that I am from Arizona  I am not the biggest fan of public pools or water parks. Lots of kids in tepid water who are having too much fun to stop

 and go to the bathroom…well, you get the idea. However, as a parent sometimes you have to put your own likes and dislikes aside and just take your kid to the water park.

The water park is way bigger than it looks from the outside. When we got in to the place I was surprised to see that there was a lazy river, a wave pool and an area for little kids to swim and walk in the water, in addition to the lap pool and water slides. There are lounge chairs all over the complex but they fill up fast, we were in the park about 10 minutes after it opened and they were already all taken. If you are not a member of the water park I highly recommend going with someone who is. Members are always guaranteed entrance and they can also get their guests in. The day we went the lines to get in, both the member line and the general public line were wrapped around the building and the session filled quickly.

My biggest complaint about the park is the sheer volume of people. I think feeling like a sardine can probably convey the feeling that I got while being in the wave pool and kids swimming area. The bigger kids who can swim also are a little aggressive with the little ones and the adults for that matter, they will just push you over like you are not even there. But you just have to remember you are doing it for the kids.

All in all the morning at the water park was great. Since Sammy is still too small to ride the water slides it only cost $9 for both of us to get in, so that was nice.  Sammy had a blast and says he can not wait to go back. Will we be going back? Absolutely, it might just be on a cloudy day.
